Chris came to me because as much time as she spent emphasizing the importance of honing in on a personal brand with her own clients, she hadn’t fully committed to doing the same for her own business. So she took the leap of faith and decided to invest in a full brand identity exploration!

We started off by really trying to understand her target audience and how she wanted them to feel when they interacted with her brand. This led to the epiphany that the real value Chris offers is the time, space and reason for busy women to pause and look their best in business, family and personal portraits. Her love language is Quality Time and that’s really what she values for her clients too. We realized her new brand had to express that she understood the vulnerability of having the big lens pointed in your direction and hearing all the head trash that can arise about appearance.

So throughout the mood board phase, we were able to identify this warm, friendly, down-to-earth, and welcoming feel to capture that sense of vitality, comfort, and creativity all at once. To make sure the focus could still be on her photography, we wanted her brand to make use of lots of open white space. But it was also important to still included that feminine warmth, so we crafted a boho-inspired color palette with natural shades of blue, shimmering copper, clay, and cream. This color palette is friendly and welcoming, helping people feel comfortable and safe to reach out and learn more about working with her.

Next came the pairing of a modern, feminine serif header font, a clean sans serif body font, and a playful script for decorative elements. But my favorite part of this branding project was by far the development of Chris’ new abstract camera icon/monogram using the letters from her name “CM.” I love how versatile it is with all of the logo variations - something Chris requested specifically to make sure she had a recognizable watermark.

Overall, Chris and I couldn’t be more excited with how everything turned out! We’re currently in the process of redesigning some of her marketing materials (business cards, product guide magazines, etc.) and her website to match her new brand identity, so make sure to check back soon as I post more updates on our progress!

 Client Love!

“I feel so lucky to have connected with Nicole and I've been blown away by the level of service, attention to detail and expertise she offers. The package she sent over made me feel like a Big Business in a Small Business wrapper! She is outstanding at what she does creatively, her processes are seamless, and I felt in good hands through the entire process. I’m looking forward to working with her on some of my other marketing materials.”
