Willow Camp

Willow Camp is a stunning three acre vacation rental in Stinson Beach, California. Nestled between the ocean, lush gardens, and nearby Mt Tamalpais, this project drew inspiration from the property’s rich history and unique connection to its natural surroundings.

Deliverables:

  • Custom Logo Design

  • Alternative Logo Design

  • Submark Design

  • Color Palette Development

It was important to capture a vintage, outdoorsy feel while also blending together the variety of styles of accommodations that make up the property. With housing options ranging from the historic, beautiful Lodge built in 1917, to the Balinese huts, to the Love Shack, all the way to an airstream, the brand’s new aesthetic brings together the story of their core mission… to create unforgettable memories rooted in history and nature.

I decided to design a logo that captured this union of a family oriented seaside sanctuary where the sun, waves, forests, and mountains meet. Once we had our new icon it was time to play with typography!

The new brand needed to feel whimsical, surprising, and historic, so I blended a wide geometric vintage primary logo font with a tall clean sans-serif font alongside a playful California-inspired script for some logo variations. The image style also includes vintage undertones with rougher, natural textures, while the color palette uses warm earthy greens, soothing sand shades, and our rich redwood red as the accent color.

I had such a blast working with the team at Willow Camp to develop their new brand identity and am looking forward to updating their branding across their other marketing materials soon (instagram, stationery, website, etc), so stay tuned!
